Liza Mientus - Consultant

Liza Mientus joined Ron Klink and Associates in September of 2002. Prior to joining Ron Klink and Associates, Liza worked in Washington, DC on the legislative staffs of former Congressman Ron Klink of Pennsylvania, Nick Rahall of West Virginia, Joe Kennedy of Massachusetts and Collin Peterson of Minnesota. Liza also served Congressman Peterson as a Professional Staff Member on the House Committee on Government Reform, Subcommittee on Regulatory Reform, when he was Ranking Member.
Liza worked on Capitol Hill since 1993 and specialized in securing federal funds through the appropriations process in transportation, international issues, and economic development. She staffed Congressman Rahall, who is the second-ranking Democrat on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, on all transportation issues, including the preparation for reauthorization of the six-year surface transportation legislation, known as TEA 21. In 1997-98, Liza staffed Congressman Kennedy on transportation issues during the writing of TEA 21. She also staffed Congressman Kennedy on the Committee on Veterans' Affairs.
Liza staffed Congressman Klink on transportation and economic development appropriations, on energy and environmental issues being considered by the Commerce Committee, and on the successful passage of legislation to prevent steel dumping by foreign nations into the United States. Prior to working on Capitol Hill, she raised funds from PACs and individuals for presidential and congressional campaigns.
Liza received her undergraduate degree in Economics from the Pennsylvania State University and graduate level professional certification in Public Relations and in Environmental Management and Sustainability from the George Washington University.
